The economy of the community revolves around sheep and cattle farming as well as the tourist venture of Remote Adventures. 

The school has two classroom blocks with one being used as the office and resource storage area. The school has a swimming pool, a tennis court and a large playing field.  Alongside the school is a very well appointed and maintained community hall which is used for regular community functions and is available to the school.
